I found out about this after Aaron blogged about it on the seobook blog. This plugin is designed to automatically build better internal links on Wordpress blogs. It lets you define keywords and destination urls. For example, you can enter in the word “seo” and then put your home page as the destination url. From then on every time you make a post with the word “seo” in it, it will automatically link to your home page. New updates of the plugin allows providing a list of destination url’s that are used at random. A pretty cool idea.

You can get the seo internal linking plugin here.

If you’re in the market for a new video card for gaming, Tom’s Hardware did a comparison to see how you can get the most bang for your buck. The king of speed right now is Nividia’s Geforce GTX 260. It is hands down the fastest card ont he market but it costs bank: $650! The really interesting thing is you can easily beat this card and do it for $400! To do that, use a pair of ATI’s Radeon HD 4850’s in a crossfire configuration. Not bad! Save $200 and be faster than anything on the market.

Check out the entire article for all the details. It’s pretty short and at the end they show some brief benchmarks.

There are a ton of SEO sites out there. Many of them are a complete waste of time to read. In no particular order, here are ones that I found to be valuable:

http://bluehatseo.com/

Blue Hat SEO is a great blog for two reasons: (1) the author is sarcastic, devious, and creative. (2) much of the content is how-to. It definitely has a “Blue Hat” (i.e. not totally Black Hat) bent to it, but that is what makes it interesting. The author, Eli, is about making money and isn’t afraid to go after it by any means necessary. While I’m sure he does not share his top money making techniques, he shares quite a bit. Evil Genius types will definitely be come away from this blog with a ton of great ideas and also something even more valuable: inspiration! (Too bad he hasn’t been posting in awhile).
http://www.wickedfire.com

WickedFire is actually a forum site. It is mainly about affiliate marketing rather than SEO. However, you can learn a ton of stuff by browsing around the different threads. Everything is covered here including content, marketing, domaining and more. As with many forum sites, it has it’s share of egos and drama. But it is definitely worth checking out. You will be surprised how much you learn if you read it from time to time.

http://www.seobook.com/blog/

Aaron Wall always has some interesting posts. Rarely earth shattering and almost never real how-to articles, it is still a good read. He definitely reads about the industry and checking out his blog will lead to other good articles. This guy is a branding juggernaut. He always seems to get a mention from the industry glitterati. The blog is also clearly a vehicle to sell his seobook product but interesting nonetheless.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/

This is a great webmaster forum that offers coverage on tons of different topics. More newbie friendly than Wickedfire, and less drama too. They cover all sorts of stuff like SEO, PPC, programming, design, etc. Check it out. Another place to learn a lot.

To be continued…

It all started a few months ago when I happened to notice that the “company site” was not responding. My bad for not checking often, but since it was basically a static site to help sell software, I never checked it much. Turns out my hosting company “specialhost” just up and disappeared! After being a customer of theirs for about 7 years, it seemed ridiculous to not even get an email. Hopefully nothing bad happened to the guy who ran the place. Oh well — I was overpaying those guys anyway
Since specialhost went MIA, I was unable to get my html files. While I do have a proper site backup somewhere, I just decided to bite the bullet and use Wordpress instead. Hopefully, using a blogging platform will encourage me to make more site updates.

In the past, this site has been about selling software. CD-ROM’s to be exact. (Hence the name “atomiccdrom”). But times are a changin’.

For the future, this site will focus more on the different directions the company is taking. Mainly: web development and seo. I’ve been spending a lot of time on this lately and hopefully have something interesting to offer the community.

OK, well that’s it for now. Watch for more posts soon.
